i'm a freshman in college, and the last two times i went out to party, i hooked up with girls (but didn't get laid).

so last night, i was ultra psyched the whole day for the party and read a lot of pua material. all i could think about was how i was going to finally get laid. and of course, the party comes around, not many of my friends were there, and i failed. i couldn't even walk up to random girls and start convos, even though i had been able to do that two weeks ago.

so right now i'm a little disappointed. any tips for the next party? thanks.

1st. off,stop relying on your friends as crutches.

So what if they didn't show up-more girls for you. That's a PUA's mentality.

Some guys use alcohol as crutches but you use your friends to psych you up and provide the support.

You must go at it alone man!

So next time(if alone),you must chat up a few girls to build social proof(to make you look like somebody and not an anti-social looser).

Do not go straight for the OYD(object of your desire-the target).

Work the party room first by talking to as many people there as possible. Then the target will notice that and wonder who's that cool social guys. Then you approach her since you're social-proofed then she'd feel social pressure to want to get to know you.

If you just hide off in a remote corner of the party looking all stupid and lonely,you're essentially subcommunicating to the girls in the party that you have no friends,you're not cool,you're a weirdo,etc.

So as I said,chat to a few people first so the target can see. Chat to guys also.

If you're the weird lonely guy in the joint then try approach the target,she'll reject you unless you made a powerful entrance-which I doubt you can do.

any conversational tips? i'm not very good right now at approaching and making small talk with strangers.

There are too many conversational tips I dont know where to begin(lol).

Just look up some good openers on the forum or go to some pick-up websites and look up openers.

You dont need convo' tips,you need openers(same thing anyway-lol).

Use opinion openers to start out with where you are asking the girl her opinion on whatever.

For instance,a common one by a reknown guru(cant remember which one):

"Who lie more,women or men?"

But you'd need other routines to stack if you're not able to make any up on the spot.
