everytime i open i get shut down right off the bat and i dont know why!

and if i dont at the start i do somewhere else down the line

a similar thing happens to me...it might be social proofing, confidence level or energy level as far as i can think of.
try boosting your confidence with hypnotica's techniques....it works
my problems are social proofing and energy maybe the other puas have some advice

Ok well first off

1 Do you approach from the back?
2 Is your opener quite long?
3 Do you think you have a confident voice?

You never approach from the back because that just sets you up for the approach to go downhill

If your opener is long then they might listen for a while and just shut you off.
Show confidence through your voice and your body language if you don't you just look like some desperate freak who wants to get in her pants

What are you opening with? Not that it actually matters. I find the best way around getting shut down is if you sense it happening, pick on the best looking one of them or the one who seems to lead the group.

This is how it goes, you open lets say a set of three and instantly you get the cold shoulder, when this happens look at the best looking one of them or the one that looks like she is the lead girl and say something like "Blimey if looks could kill I would be dead" Say it with all the confidence in the world and I bet at least one of the other 2 will grin or laugh. That IOI gives you an in, follow it up with "is she always like this?" Then start your opener again but about half way through nudge the one that showed the IOI and say "there she goes again, can you beleive that?" If ishe hasn't she will likely challenge you and say "no I didn't" she is then qualifying herself. You tell her firends she did and they will agree. You have to do all of this with confidence and humor, like you will not accept her misbehaving but its funny. You do this with nerves and they will all turn on you.

If you get this right you actually won't run the opener until they ask for it, because you will keep picking on her and building rapport with her friends. I have tried this one loads and it works every time. It is simple negging, lowers her value and if she is the lead the others will like it. Also means that once your in you generally end up with the hottest one as she finds herself trying to qualify herself to you.

I actually like it because I always struggle to ignore the target and this has a simialr effect with you focusing on her!!

I did this at the weekend with my first four set of the night and before I had even opened my mouth the hottest one rolled her eyes as if to say here we go again. After 20 mins she offered me her number and apologised for being so frosty.

Incongruence.

You need to calibrate what you are trying to show. You dont feel like you belong there, that shows.

If you are in a bar in heavy peacocking clothes for example, you need to have a high energy level otherwise it is weird. If you are a smooth slow player you need to dress as one.

You also need to take command, they enter your world, not the other way around.

I agree. I would also like to add that by this point you are probably assume that you will be blown out. People react to how they are expected to react. If you expect that a girl will reject you, she can tell and she will reject you. She does this simply as a reaction, not as a logical or emotional decision; and therefore as long as you expect rejection, you will get it.
