Alright, an old sticking point came up over the weekend while I was visiting friends in Amsterdam. The night before I was to return home, I tagged along with a buddy to a house party being thrown by a work colleague of his. As I walked in, the party was apparently a little dead because of a few no-shows, but there were about 15 people there, with around 10 girls (half were pretty hot). I'm thinking this could be fun...

Anyhow, on to the sticking point: a few of the girls were either married or had boyfriends, but one set of three girls had some promise. When I introduced myself to them, I said that I was in town for work and was staying for just one more night (which was true). Once I mentioned I was only in town for another day, one of them said something along the lines of "hope you enjoyed your visit to Amsterdam", and I visibly sensed a drop in the set's interest in me.

Over the course of the night, I still ended up getting a good conversation going and was able to get quite friendly with them, as well as a few others at the party. I ended up having a good time, but I was still frustrated: I took a liking to one of the girls, but couldn't shake the feeling that I was written off from the get-go, and wasn't really able to steer the conversation beyond regular chit-chat. This is a familiar problem for me that I don't seem to experience when I'm on my "home turf": I do a fair bit of traveling where I visit friends or family and have in turn met some really interesting girls. However, other than two exceptions, I haven't had much luck on this front. I can't get over this feeling of being "disqualified" because I'm only there for a short time; in fact, sometimes I wonder if I'm actually subconsciously sabotaging my own game because I don't think there's enough time for anything to happen...

Well, I don't know if any of this makes sense, but I'll try to sum it up like this: when any of you guys are in a situation where you're visiting somewhere and won't be staying for long, do you do or say anything different so it's still possible to go beyond regular conversation and run game? Do you find that girls generally lose interest or are much harder to game once they realize that you won't be around long?
