I always begin a first text with a neg. If you met her in a bar or club, begin by calling her a lightweight, or whatever word you use to make fun of someone who gets drunk easily. Or if she has a prominent accent, lightly neg her for it. Follow the neg up up with a

to lighten the neg further, then just make a brief comment about your encounter (she was surprisingly interesting to talk to; she had a unique way about her which you found refreshing etc). Then make it clear that you have places to go (when I'm texting, I always have a place to go, like band practice). This helps me DHV further. I then outro with "take care trouble!

" and sign off with my name. Signing off with my name makes me appear authorititative and decisive (this is a Lance Mason tactic).
I've found that constructing my texts this way gets a positive response.
