Hey, I'm group organiser for a night life meetup group. We've got 30 people so far. But HB 3 starts negging me in front of the group. I say they can find me at the venue cause I'll be wearing a funky shirt. I also made very obvious typo saying I'll be there at 10pm-11pm in the main bar. Even though the event starts at 8pm, and I'm organiser.

Here's the convo:

HB 3: hey Johnny - whats the 'funky shirt' look like? I'm sure there's going to be a few funky shirts there

Me: Hey! My mum normally chooses my clothes on the day, but this time I'll be wearing the stamps Johnny

HB 3: Hi Everyone - If Johnny won't be there until 10pm is there anyone getting there about 8pm? Maybe we can arrange to meet somewhere ...the front door...or the main bar...about 8 ish? I'm not familiar with the venue so any helpful info on where to meet would be helpful Anne

How would you handle this?

I went:

Me: Thats awesome. You totally get a gold star there. I totally didn't see that. Man do I suck. I'll be there at 8pm, but if you guys need to arrange car rides and stuff let me know or find someone else who has a car. There should also be some spoken word apparently, which sounds interesting Johnny

........... Then one chode called "Ralph" left the group. GAY.

It doesn't sound like she negged you at all. Sounds like she thought you were going to get there at 10 so she wanted to meet up with other people at 8. The funky shirt comment also sounds like a valid question to me. From my 3rd party perspective it sounds like you may have overreacted.

Thanks man. The way I see it is she tried to cut me out of the loop.

I'm going to just ignore it, and turn up, and meet the people. And find out where they'd like to go next.
