Okay so I'm in the beginning stages of actually spitting, but I'm loving the ride nonetheless.

Here's the sit rep:

I can approach girls and mask my AA well enough where it appears I don't have any.
My openers are short, simple, and work every time I've used them
My mid-game is where I fall flat on my face...
-I've been running back through my past (failed) attempts, and have come up against what appears to be the problem: hooking the group/target.

After I've opened the set, I work my way to being seated, so I'm not hovering like a creep. But I feel as though I need to wait until I've hooked them (or at least begun to hook them) before I sit down, and show a level of familiarity and comfort with the set.

Any thoughts on how to hook the set(with examples plzzz) would be greatly appreciated, I know about techniques like DHV, but I would love to hear some of people's actual lines for doing that.

Depends on how you are opening, and the rest of the situation really. But I suspect your problem is that you don't actually have a problem, it's all in your head. Try doing everything you normally do, and saying "Mind if I join you? I've turned up early and my friends aren't here yet" - OR - "I need to sit down, my legs are killing" - OR - just sit down and don't say anything about it, if she is pretty attracted straight off the bat she'll be fine with it.

Basically, if she likes you, she won't say anything, she'll be happy you stayed to talk. Same for the rest of her group.
