It does not really matter how you open the set, but how you do it. If it is in a club or on the town it usually helps by having slimly higher energy than the group. usually a set with 3 or more people already have some group dynamic going so you don't have to carry the conversation of the whole group. Ive used "heeeey!" as an opening line for a group with the attitude that i want to get to know everyone it the group. It is hard using opinion openers since you need the attention of the whole group. After my initial "heeey" I ask them how they know each other and follow that by saying something like "we are gonna be THE group tonight, everybody is going to envy/join uss"

It is always better to open a set with a wing. What you can do is go in alone first and then your wing can come by after you opened them, say 3 min and ask you "have you seen George" or any name for that matter. If you feel like you have control of the set just say "he is over there" and point some direction. If you want him in the set say "I think he left" and introduce him to the rest of the set. Here it is nice to be good at remembering names cus it gives great value. If a girl says "you remembered my name" you could say "I remember the name of things i like" then turn away with your body language.

Opening the set with your wing there from the beginning can be hard, but i have no experience with it.

If a guy would be out of place and say something like "fuck you" in a set I'm gaming i would say "your so cute, trying to impress inform of his friends" or "woow, look at this guy, is he always like this? " or "finally a guy who has some balls, i feel like all the guys on town are pussies" or just ignore him. The most important thing to remember is that it does not matter what he said and it doesn't affect you at all.

If you open a group it will make it a lot easier to get your target. I think the best way to do they is asking a question and then keep the convo going until introduction and maybe contact.

Out of the responses you mentioned to the alfa male, this is the one I would recommend. If you want to be a part of the group you should not be rude to any of the group members, this is a compliment and you are respecting his stand to be alfa without showing weakness.

Good answer, but the others you said could get you in trouble!
