Online gaming means you'll have to rely 1: on your looks and 2: your opener. Remember that 5's- are looking for someone, anyone, that will give them the time of day. That's what initially brought them to that website to begin with.
I'm very familiar with doing this whole online thing and on several sites. SEVERAL. I've noticed a pattern as well... Out of state hotties are the easiest to get their numbers. Of course the ones that, unless you're able to travel, you won't be fucking any time soon.
Out of several of my online bangs, I'd say that only 3-5 of them were 7's or higher. That's not a good number compared to the amount I tolerated enough to have a quick night of fun with.
So the "secret" then? You'll notice that, since everything is based on looks, you'll have to do SOME sort of studying to really make you stand out. The first step is your profile picture itself.
Look like you're fun to be around. Post the pictures of you out at a club having a good time or in a huddle with your friends (remember to do your cropping.) Allowing the ladies to see that you're in a group of people is good; just beware that you leave a friends face in there and she thinks A: he's YOU, or B: "if I talk to this guy, I'll meet that guy!" You're better off just leaving their arms, drinks, or whatever isn't their face, in the picture. Just enough to show you have friends with you.
Smile and be outgoing. Have fun in your pictures. You can't look like you're posing for your license or like you're in a lineup.
Now look at their pictures and read their profiles. (Shit... Read!?) Yes, read! You'll notice that some have nothing in their about me's, or that SOME even test to see if you took the time to read their profile at all. They'll say something like "send me a message with [insert stupid test answer here] in it and show me that you read my profile" so on and so forth. Establish some sort of common grounds with this woman before you send her your standard message.
Girls don't just want a "hey, what's up" these days. That doesn't work online anymore. Be creative. Be silly, imaginative, and spontaneous. Try to avoid the "hey you're super beautiful" or even starting with an over the top compliment at all.
Once you start your conversation and get a reply - it's probably best to try getting the phone number 4-5 messages in. So make sure you're talking about something substantial that would qualify you enough to get the digits anyways. If she doesn't seem interested; don't ask. If your conversation isn't one word replies and she's into an actual conversation, then you're golden!
If you want to get the hotter girls - you're better off gaming in person than online. A lot of them are fake profiles now, or you do run into the issues where they're just whining about wanting a good guy but not willing to talk to EVERYONE. I'm still struggling with that issue myself and trying to break free. So far; I'm a little more successful but not enough to offer "fool proof" advice on getting the hottest chick on the website just yet.
