Hey guys,

There's 1 big sticking points that I always stumble on.

Most of the girls in my school, they tend to tease a lot. Sexually, verbally, cocky funny, etc. So that's why sometimes I'm having difficulties in approaching the girls in my school. So what should I do if they tease me a lot?? Like something to stop their teases so I can continue on building attraction, etc. I know teasing and games make the situation fun, but too much of them, BANG!! I'll be on the friend zone.

Or if I want to get into a relationship, that's exactly what I should do??

If a girl is teasing you, more than likely she is interested in you. So why even bother with building attraction when its already there? Just chat them up and tease them back. You may find these girls that tease you will make easy closes, it being number to dates to having sex.

The only problem is that most of the times my responses to the girls aren't so clever. So most of the time, I'll lose to the clever girls. They can retort with clever and witty responses, and I'll stay shut and lose to them.

For example, yesterday:
So I was walking with my friend together, then this 1 HB that I like were like:
HB: Hey, my fans!!!

I was about to retort "hey my bride", when I discover a better response like "hey my slave". It's quite a common jokes, but I forgot to retort it correctly.

OK Jurupa,let's say that I should tease them back, should I always win the "teasing fight"?? It's kinda take a lot of effort and investment and not necessary to build attraction? Or is it better if I retort back with physical contact (punch playfully on their arms, etc)??

Tease back. Teasing is a sign of flirting, unless of course they're calling you terrible-self-esteem-crushing-names to break your spirit... then it's not flirting and they hate you. From your post we'll assume it's the former. If you're not clever on your feet try to have some canned (planned) retorts rehearsed on standby. There are only so many ways to tease a person, so you only need a finite number of good responses to be effective.

I agree that someone teasing you is flirting, as long as it's not down-right ugly...capitalize on it!

Here's a quick and easy response to any tease (for those times when you can't think of what to say): Agree with them and do it with a smirk...it'll come across as sarcasm. Then, take it further (now that you've had time to think) and continue to deliver sarcasm with a smirk.

Example:

HB: "There's my fan club."

You: "Can I have your autograph?" (Said with a smirk.) If she pauses thinking of a response, then say "You can write, can't you?" (Also said with a smirk.)

Hahaha... Thanks guys for the replies, maybe we can share some of our best retorts here too. I'll try to share with you one of the best retorts I've ever made (I made it when I'm on state)

Me: If I'm good looking, I won't like you (implying that she's as ugly as you are)

HB: You have a bad taste..
Me: That's why I like you. (said with smile)

Wow...those seem very close to offensive, but whatever. Here's what pops into my mind:

HB: You're ugly.
You: Birds of a feather...

HB: You have a bad taste.
You: How would you know? Did you taste me while I was asleep? (said with a smile).

Anytime someone delivers a playful slam (it's usually after I've made some crude comment and been told "You're a sicko!"...LOL), my standard response is "Flattery will get you nowhere".

Just end the tease fight on a high note, or if things get a bit physical/pushy then go with that.

I know a few times i was in some tease fights, id eventually top them then Id' say in not in these direct words but something similar " You give up?" Or " Its time to admit defeat" etc. showing that I dominated.

Sometimes its tough...I know of a unlucky SOB who every time hed flirt with 1 girl, the neighboring females(some friends) would all just fire on this kid teasing him hard. And we know that younger girls especially..get talking..laughing...yelling...cant even get a word in otherwise.

You don't need to win all the time. But you need to win some of the time. Teasing is suppose to be fun not something you have to or must win at. It doesn't take much effort or investment to build attraction once you get the hang of it. As far as retorting goes, I say do both and mix it up. One day you playfully punch her in the arm and other day you say something then maybe the next day you both at the same time. Just have fun with it.
My response would had been: "Ya I know I am sexy" or "Stop hating because you know I am to hot for you"
"Like yours is any better?"


Just to note I would have said these things in a very sarastic manner with a smile to follow.

There's different types of teasing. There's good ones and bad ones. The good ones are the one you can work with. They're mostly positive/playful. They convey attraction. The bad ones are mostly just negative but still workable. If somebody teased me with bad ones, I'll neg them or I won't talk to them.

Those teasing were mostly bad or making fun of you but anyways I would've say something like:

You don't need to say those bad thing (OR whatever she says) just to talk to me.
You don't need to say those bad thing (OR whatever she says) just to get my attention.
