How does plowing through the same routines over and over again make you a Pick-up Artist? Art's not about imitation, rather more to do with improvisation.
Just a thought,

But then I tried using some my newly acquired methods (About NEGs and stuff, not routines) and it kind of fell apart. Normally I am a very chatty guy, but it was weird after I was 'baptized' with the art of pick up.
Can't say for much after you've become more acquainted with these arts though, because I'm still in the learning phase. But I think that it's because it's thought out, and it can't be picked apart, because there are little or no flaws.
If you mean using the same one over and over, I think people would just rotate between a couple?

many people Rely on routines cuse many people gott different levels on their "game" When u become better u can take a good old fashion routine and twist it to help u or to fit witha ya better or whattever.
Then when u become even better u can analyze ahich routine basis works and then come up wiht ur own ideas abour "routining" ( exactly in this point u muight be flowing just like water)
And then when u become even better u will routine with out knowing ull use different frames and patterns in ur game. It will come NAturall
Let me put a Good Example on this, Game is like a martial art
u can not beat anyguy without training, when u are a tottal rookie you got to repeat every move untill u get it right , then u got ur black belt u can fight fluidly (but with the perfection learnt by the basis structures and frames previously learnt not only by Theory but also by practice, Crashes and scores)
HEy Mate it wass really nice to post again kkeep it u MAte

But Negs, Openers, Especially DHVs, i shy away from canned and usually use situational ones that crop up in my head.
Just my take on things.

So when your just starting out they are great because your not as socioly savy and maybe arn't that quick on keeping up conversation. If you know a routin or two you can make sure you don't drop the conversation and keep things interesting. Its like having a black belt in martial arts but carrying a gun just in case.

read and i think its a good foundation to pick up and mystery's thoughts
and approaches towards it.
Regarding your question, well... I guess to some extent, it is true
that you have to keep repeating the same old routines. But, in the book
Mystery states that you shouldn't always use the canned material,
but try come up with new ones. He said that a true pick up artist
(or venusian artist in mystery's words) should come up with their own
routines. I think well, if you keep practicing, and make and try out your
own routines, later on, you might even naturally come up with a response
on the spot.
