Right recently I had my appendix out and i've tried this out kinda, nothing more than joking around really but i think it can work:

"Check out this scar! Well I'll tell you the story, one day i was walking back from the elderly home after playing guitar to the residents when i heard a woman scream. I raced around the corner and found her being mugged, fearing not for myself I said tried to calm the man down using my background as a hostage negotiator. Long story short he stabbed me in the stomach and ran away, *really? OMG!* yeah I know bummer. At least I saved the woman though, I don't regret it. Nah I'm kidding it was in a car crash, I swerved out of the way because there was a puppy in the road and I couldn't live if i killed a puppy and I hit a wall, yeah I know I needed 11 stitches there and was covered in cuts and bruises, I got to keep the puppy and named him lucky. Blah blah" Until it goes on for too long and I tease them / her about being gullible and never actually tell them its my appendix cause i figure that just lets them down after hyping it up so much, so I'd leave it on something like "If I told you I'd have to kill you" And refuse to tell her. The point is to just make yourself sound like a hero with loads of obvious cliches like I saved a cat from a tree or whatever so that she knows you're joking but doesn't know if the end result is true or not, be a bit playful.

Dude, if she is sqeemish towards scars or the site of the open wound, your game is over.

Also, don't kid so much that you make it appear that everything you say is a joke. Cause you will get to a point where your joke could later become a lie in her opinion.

Always start off with the truth (unless she asks you how many woman you have been with) and start a story off of that.

For example: "Hey I got my appendix taken out. I know girls think scars are cool and all but it looks like a bull jacked me up right there [and laugh]." Or you can add your 'saving a lady from a knife attack incident' there as well.

Make it appear funny without making her wonder if you are joking or not. That will work better for you I think. Unless all she wants is sex, then go for you approach.

yeah that's true i didn't think about squeemish women, AND that makes sense because for some reason literally every time i talk to a girl she seems to have past issues with lying guy :') so playing the lying joker might just land me a slap!

i tried this as a joke with some people but wasn't looking for a close (have a gf) got a few laughs but i didn't really go to much effort I just joked around like i'd saved lives and everything and it got some giggles

That sounds...annoying...hopefully you can do it better than how you described, because that just sounds obnoxious. I mean, sure joking about a scar, but thinking you can carry a joke after joke after joke, maybe if you land someone simple or gullible, but one joke, maybe 2 tops sounds better.

I was about to say then but I read back and realised I'd typed it wrong so fair point, I did mean before it goes on too long rather than when it's gone on too long. So yeah I take your point!

I agree with the annoying comment. Also, if one of the first things out of your mouth is a lie, chances are she won't believe much of what you say.
