Materials: Penny, Nickel, Dime.


Possible use: Tell your target that you "want to show her something" and use the prospect of showing her something cool to isolate her. This isn't really a DHV but it's a cool trick and it works often.

The Setup: Put the penny nickel and dime in your hand. Make a big deal about the positioning, although it's not important (just distracting).

The Trick:

PUA: "Ben's mother had three children. Penny,"
PUA: (points to penny)
PUA: "Nika,"
PUA: (points to nickel)

Now point to the dime and look up at her and say nothing. You want her to tell you the name of the third child. She'll most likely try to make the word "dime" into a name of some sort, when of course the third child must be named "Ben".

I suggest talking relatively quickly while doing this so she doesn't have much time to think.

I usually set up the coins in my hand, she'll get the name wrong and I'll shake my head. Then I'll carefully reposition the coins in her hand and do the whole thing over again.

This trick is based on the psychological concept of "rooting". The focus is on the coins and the position of the coins, so she's not thinking about what's really being said or going on. Same basic concept as "Say silk 5 times fast. What does a cow drink?".

I can testify that it works! I when and used it after using that finger routine I posted, yesterday at asu's tailgate party with a few HB's. They loved this routines, with this one I think I even stayed one HB8 teasing and trying to make her get it for around half an hour! Mad props to styles and to you too Mech.

THIS WORKS LIKE MAGIC!!! People are so into the coins that they pay no attention to your first few words and when you tell them its Ben... everyone is attracted to you because you're funny and interesting... I LOVE IT!!!

I understand the joke of it but do people actually laugh, cuz just reading it, it doesn't seem that funny or entertaining. Or is the point to isolate and get kino started. I personally wouldn't use it, cuz of the likelyhood the of girl saying "I don't get it" or "what was the point of that", but it'd help if someone could explain the logic behind it and what to follow it up with.

It is a subtle neg - listen Ben's mom has 2 kids - I told you 2 of their names - the last one HAS to be Ben. She doesn't get it (most wont on the first pass) and you have an easy open to neg her infront of her friends who probably aren't getting it either. Lets you DHV easily.
