Ok so I was in Turkey last year at a water park .. some people from the staff were randomly taking pictures of everyone in different situations and posted the photos on a wall ... so someone from my group saw this and told us let's go buy some of the pictures ... I waited till the last minute .. so when people were getting into the bus that was taking us back to the hotel, so I leave all my stuff to a friend and run quickly to get a photo I liked ... it took me about 3 minutes but when I got back none of my friends were there and I was left there with nothing but a photo in my hand in my swimming trunks with no phone and no money .. and the hotel was like 20 miles away ... so I thought I could get a cab but when I the driver told me how much it will cost I changed my mind ... so I went back to the entrance and talked to a girl from the staff to let me in so I can talk to the guy selling the pictures to give me my money back in exchange of my picture, that was the only thing I could think of at the moment ... so I got back inside and talked to the guy who was moved by my situation and gave me back my 5 Lira and the picture as a gift ... so I had to change 3 buses but 1 and a half hour later I was back at the hotel .. since than people keep calling me 'Lost'

I figure it's a funny story not so much DHV'ing but it can be a nice opener

I think it is too long to be an opener it should be a little shorter. It's a good story you can it as a "simple" story.

“Hey, I'm 'lost' .
Yeah? where do you want to get to ?
No .. you got it wrong, my name is 'lost'..
Oh, where does that come from ... "

I think that the "joke" about your name at the beginning is not too good.
(it sounds strange and the name itself "Lost" doesn’t show any DHV)

If the girl is not interested in you I don’t think she wants to listen the story of your nickname.
I think an opinion opener would be better.

And opinion opener could be anything like “Hi guys a quick question how can I get to the nearest station”. You don’t need a “who lies more men or women?” type of opener.
She: blablab…
And after that you tell her "it’s because you meet your friend and ...." tell any funny story you know of.
The important thing is to put a good story which is connected to your question.
(you can put DHV here which should be true women usually good at detecting lie and it's good if you can follow-up with interesting topics after your story.)

Or if you want another one there are fucking much opener what you can use.
