SO! as it turns out, i tend to be a funny guy. I can captivate peoples attention with stories that i tell and have them laughing without even thinking about it. This all sounds great right! well there is a downside, like most things in life.. it tends to be in an awkward kind of way.. and from having done reading and viewing of videos, the general jist of the pua is to create and immerse yourself as a cool, in control alpha male. I was wondering whether i have to learn to lose the awkwardness and be funny through other means? and or does the awkwardness tend to be a negative or a positive thing i should build on. or are there even awkward routines? something new and innovative?!?

Im not some gangly bafoon with spectacles, i have a good dress sense and am reasonably attractive but im not here to fish for compliments! so...

Anyone care to share some advice for my dilemma?

I used to be known as mr Bean when i was younger because of my, excentric humour (to say the least)

Whats essential when you become a PUA though, is the PUA knows when to strike it cool. You dont need to change your ways if you know how to amplify them.

If you get a second alone with her use that "awkward" humour as a leverage, this is what i do when i find myself goofing around:

"Hey i'm just going to borrow your friend for a second" or whatever

follow up with letting her know you just turned serious. "Can i be serious with you for a second?" (any answer) "you know, theres something about you, i cant tell what it is. Your pretty, but beauty is common... what is it about you that makes you attractive? help me out, this is driving me nuts and i dont like it!" (Mystery has something resembling this)

Thats what i do and its solid gold to me.

yeah that sounds like great advice mate thanks heaps! i still obviously have quiet some way to go with working sets properly and getting timing down properly, but i think that whole routine of beauty is common, but why are you attractive is perfect because i have demonstrated i am fun and good to be around (along with social proof) but as soon as you flip it back on them, you have them answering to you, where beforehand they probably felt as though you were just the 'funny guy'

Thats exactly it, you've quialified by soc proof, DHV's and so forth, so now you are making them do the same by challenging them just slightly. Its a great technique but it takes tonality and body language not to come across as picky or cheezy, took me a very long time to get this right.
