Somthing thats happened to me latley that i could use some help adjusting and seeing if anyone had anything simalar that they do. I am a guitar player and have several guitars around my room and my house. Im a pretty good player that part is not a problem the only thing is when you have girls at your house and are closing them if there is a good routine you can use. Ive been asked to play and ill usually just improve somthing which works fairly well or ill say like 'we should right a song together.' im not the best singer id like to point out, but does anybody have any ideas that you can use in this situation.

Oh dear lord, you've got the guns but you don't know how to aim and and pull the trigger. My advice, play any songs that are easy and smooth that frequents the radio charts, or mtv. For example, Jason Mraz - I'm yours, Colby caillatt- Bubbly, even Extreme - More than words. Make sure its famous. You catch my drift right? I know, as much as i hate these kinda songs, but it works on chicks like choc to peanut butter. Jason Mraz - I'm yours is a good arsenal, as she might visualize that ur both on some beach together serenading her. Green lights baby!!!!!

It worked once on me but the chick was underaged, i HAD to leave her.

p/s: play radio-friendly, not motorhead - ace of spades. LOL.

i'm a bit of a muso myself with 2 bass guitars, an acoustic and 3 electrics in my apartment... its the first people see when they walk into my place.

anyway, i ALWAYS have girls asking me to play stuff for them.
i almost never do. i normally say something like "it's kinda my private time, to escape from reality a bit."
they either leave it there or they ask me what they'd have to do to get me to play for them... at which point i pick up one of my guitars (normally my razorback) and start playing like someone who's never touched a guitar before and then c&f with "i'm a fucking master ey?", ending off with a nice little solo just to show that i actually do have some skills.
the little solo is a bit of a teaser, gets them begging me to play for them... which i respond to with something like "it's my private time... you'd have to really impress me for me to let you sit in on a real session  "

Well I have a double suit dorm in college, so I have two acoustic guitars and two electric guitars chilling in my room. Usually I lock them in my closet, but when I plan on bringing a girl back from where ever, I'll usually leave my acoustic laying on my bed. Because we don't have a lot of chairs in the room, everyone usually sits on the beds [there are two beds because I have a roommate]... meaning I have to move the guitar for us to sit in my half of the suit.

Without fail, I've always been asked to play a song. In the event that I am not asked [which hasn't happened yet], I would just keep it plain and simple. As I am moving the guitar, I would ask, "Hey, have you ever heard the song _____ by _____?". Being able to somewhat sing is a plus, but if not, I would just tell her she has to sing and have fun with it.

As far as what to play, it depends on the type of girl you get back. Personally, I've always dated and attracted preppy girls who are into indie and acoustic stuff. For the majority of girls, I would play some Jack Johnson, Bright Eyes, DMB, or John Mayer. Jason Mraz's I'm Yours was a good suggestion too. Keep in mind, if you are getting gothic or punkrock girls, slow acoustic songs may not be suitable.

I would also suggest just finger picking an easy mellowed out four chord progression with embelishments [hammer-ons and pull-offs].

just keep in mind when you're playing that you're not doing it to impress her... you're doing it because you feel like having a jam session.
i think thats probably the best mindset to have in most aspects of PU. you're doing it because you want to, not to impress her.

i'll often just leave the bedroom (especially good for freezeouts) and go play in the livingroom, because i want to play (not many things gets attention like a cool riff  ).
i keep my acoustic in the bedroom, so if we're watching tv or whatever in the livingroom i'll get up, play in the bedroom and she'll come watch (and get wet(ter) )

as for what to play... yes, it would depend on the girl... but it also depends on you. i normally play whatever i feel like though. it's been established that i'm a metalhead so i'm going to stay congruent with that... it'll look weird if a guy wearing a "as i lay dying" shirt starts playing some pop-culture song.

if she's nice i might throw in a little "tears in heaven" or "stairway to heaven"

haha wait so hot chicks dont like motorheard? Wow thanks for the suggestions guys i think theyre all gonna help a lot. it can just be hard to flow from a girl asking you to play into playing somthing that will compliment the mood and then put the guitar down and be where you left off without losing momentum. thanks again guys
