I was at this hippy girls house, shes a HB9, when she had a small party and she has all sorts instruments laying around the place. I have been playing the guitar for 6 years now and i'm pretty fuckin good. she had an entry level acoustic guitar and i picked it up and started playing a little tune. to my surprise every girl in the room left to go make a snack or watch tv while every dude in the house gathered around and asked me about the guitar and if i could teach them how to play. i thought the girls would have been into it but it really scared them...
my attitude towards playing was humble and a played a nice, fun, classic rock tune. has this happened to anybody before? why were the girls so intimidated by me playing? i'm lost

I'm brand new to pua, but I've been playing guitar for a very long time and seen a lot of guys do this both very well and pretty crappy, so I can probably give you some insight, but it there's a lot of possibilities for what you did wrong. Might have been bad timing, but it sounds to me like a case of breaking proper guitar etiquette for social situations.

What led you to start playing the guitar? Did you just pick it up unprompted and start playing?

i was in a room with a guitar and somebody propose i play a riff for them because they knew i play but havnt seen me play

Being a guitarist myself, I would assume you played something the girls weren't interested in. If you were noodling or playing some band they've never heard off, they'll turn off.

Whenever I pick up a guitar in a social situation, I play something everyone knows, which gets everyone singing along and makes the girls more attracted. Learn some "Wonderwall" type shit and they'll eat it up

I started doing this recently in addition to singing and have been learning to do this with songs like Radioactive that are 4 chord (Am, C, G, D) patterns. These songs are incredibly easy and you can get a great response from people around. But good lord how many songs can you name that are 3 or 4 simple chord progressions. Too many... Take advantage of the simple things. Rock on.
