| Read The Game in highschool and didn't get much use out of it because in high school all you need to do is ask a girl for her number to get it. But now I'm about to be a Junior in College im rereading it and here's my swing at the Cube.
Let's say I'm at a bar or smoking a cigarette somewhere and there's a good-lookin gal nearby, after I open and throw in a time restraint, I casually bring in if she likes games and if she wants to try and see if I can figure her out with one.
Trance: so let's play this game called "the Cube"
HB: ok! What do we do?
Trance: im going to figure you out ok? Here just close your eyes for a sec and I want you to imagine a landscape... It can be anywhere. Like the top of a mountain, bottom of the ocean, or even the office building down the block.
Hb: haha ok ummm I'm thinking of the lake house were my family goes on vacation ( this is just and example)
Trance: cool! Allright so at this lake house there's a Cube. How big is it? And where is it in your landscape?
Hb: it's purple and it's like this big *holds out her hands showing dimensions of cube*
Trance: alright thats not to big is it huh.
Hb: no but it's not small either like I can put stuff in it
Trance: right on! Ok so in your Lake house landscape with your purple cube there's a ladder. How tall is the ladder and what is it made of?
HB: hmm it's leaning against a tree and it's one of those metal ones.
Trance: is the tree tall?
Hb: yeah kinda
Trance: alrighty well now imagine that there's flowers in your landscape. How many are there? And are they all different or the same?
Hb: there's 5 and they are the same. They are Lillies
Trance: That sounds good. Ok so now in your landscape with your purple cube, steel ladder leaning against the tree, and 5 Lilies... Theres a horse! What is the horse doing and what kind of horse is it?
Hb: it's a dark horse and it's standing near the tree by the ladder.
Trance: it's just standing there?
Hb: Yeah it just arrived and wants some apples out of the tree.
Trance: allright he's just hungry huh haha?
Hb: yep =)
Trance: ok last one! Now in your landscape there's a storm (I say it in an "oh no" voice)
Hb: oh.
Trance: yeah, is it a bad storm? Or just light rain? And is it above you or far away?( I make a point to do hand gestures. It helps show I'm active and fun and builds the picture I'm wanting her to create).
Hb: no its a bad storm across the lake and it might come here.
Trance: allright well here's what I think then. The landscape is where you want to be if you could be anywhere right now. Your family's lake sounds like a good place. (we talk about her most recent trip out there or whatever) ok and the cube represents your ego. Now your cube is not very big but it's still big enough to hide a bunch of things away in it so you don't gloat or try to showoff much but you have some hidden talents that you hold dear am I right?
HB: oh my god yes!
Trance: haha ok and now your ladder. It's represents your dreams and aspirations or your drive and plan ya know? Like you have a metal ladder so your plans are pretty solid right now, you know what you need to do to achieve your dreams.
HB: yeah! Totally! This is crazy!
Trance: whoa whoa were not done yet. Ok so now the flowers are your friends. I bet you have about 5 really close friends and you feel like you have to watch over them carefully because they are your delicate litte lillies?
HB: you are blowing my mind yeah I like to have just my small group of friends.
Trance: yeah I know me too, too many friends means so much more drama and I don't like it.
HB: I know what you mean
Trance: ok so the Horse, is your ideal lover. Now your horse is a dark horse hiding in the shade trying to get up your apple tree. You want your man to come out of the shadows and try to help you achieve your dreams. ( or some other stuff)
HB: you are blowing my mind! Keep going.
Trance: hey now. were getting to the last one just a minute.
(depending on how long this has carried on, I either wrap it up or start talking about something kind of related. just to add time to us talking, and build comfort around me)
Trance: ok so the storm. The storm alludes to your trouble in life. Now your storm wasn't far away but it's pretty bad. So things can get crazy soon if you don't change where you're going.
HB: (insert wow amazing things, you are so cool, whatever)
Id like some feedback on what y'all think and please feel free, of you like my version to try it, I think it's much simpler than the original. I wrote this on my phone at work so if the words are messed up... Fuck you autocorrect.
