when you tell a dhv story you must have a reason for bringing it up. what would be a good reason for me to tell a dhv story?

There is no possible way of us answering that question.... We don't know what your story is about.?

Basically you dont really need a reason ....
You could just say " So check this out guys" when in conversation and tell it .... Or seed the conversation the way you want it to go so the topics connect ....
To be honest i am a big believer in structured game to a certain extent but i feel people to must pressure on themselves to constantly DHV, don't make the story a big deal because when you do tell it, it wont have the desired effect.... If you can work it in great if not its not really that important....
