VERY true, BUT for beginners its really hard to do that and there is a good chance of not completely understanding what the underlying things are that make it work. (I know a lot of beginners THINK they understand it, but its hard to really understand until you've done it yourself and can speak from experience). So its safer for beginners to used more canned stuff verbatim and then slowly put the stuff into their own words and change it around to fit your personality better when they get more comfortable with it.

that was a very thoughtful response, I can accept that. I would just implore you to understand the rational behind the statement as you move forward so eventually you can make it your own shit

I definitely understand the rational behind the statement. I implemented exactly what your talking about in my game a long time ago. I'm just saying that that's more of a concept for intermediate guys. Not beginners. Originally you said:

and I'm saying for new guys specifically, a lot of time it IS good for them to do stuff pretty much verbatim. I've had students (new guys) who takes what I say and then try to change it and they end up fucking it up because they don't quite understand why it works, thats all.

You don't need to say a rotine word for word that has been said mystery or somother big name/other pua guy.
