What are the best magic tricks for PUA's or the best types of magic tricks to learn. I learning some levitation and a lot of coin. Some mentalism but the thing i don't like about mentalism is thats it requires a lot of props and that isn't too convenient on the go.

What are some magic tricks or types of magic trick that would be deemed useless for PUA's

And does anyone know how to use loops properly. I've broken 3 of 5 and they don't seem very strong or flexible.

I don't use magic for PU but I assume that you don't really want to be a "circus clown" with a big bag of tricks! A good coin trick and maybe one other trick (cards/straws, etc.) should be enough. Shows that you have some unique skills and qualities but not a weirdo.

I started learning some card tricks.. mainly because it seems cool and you can "wow" everyone. AS MENTIONED.. IN ORDER FOR A PUA TO USE MARGIC: you MUST not be a clown/their entertainment. Do a trick, if they beg for more then say something like "what do I look like, a puppet to you?" and then stop and freeze out the tricks for a while at least, if not in general.

There are no specific "pua" magic tricks. There are some that CAN help you number-close / kiss-close a girl, but those are more difficult to accomplish and/or require other people. Just YouTube/Google those kissing card tricks.

Though, any other basic bar magic trick will work, there are a lot, they are easy to learn especially if you haven't done "magic" before and still give amazement.

Big +1 for the avoidance of the Circus clown persona. You really don't want that being the focal point. I'm a street magician so I know loads of different tricks but for gaming it's all about impromptu. I personally whip out a pack of cards, do say 2 tricks and then i'm done and it works wonders. If you haven't got their number by then you've missed out on a window. Personal favourite is a simple trick, ask them to write their name and number on a card and you've pretty much got it nailed, find the card. Bam, number got and interest is high.

Card magic works wonders. I would work on things that are more visual, unless you're really good at talking with people and know basic crowd management (like dealing with hecklers). Learn something like Xtreme Card Manipulation or pen spinning.
These wilk catch her attention from across the room.

And yeah loops suck. They're okay if you're just moving a pencil across a table.

I don't think mentalism requires any props at all if it's the psychological stuff but it can sometimes scare the girls as they think you can influence them without them knowing. Coin tricks are best as you won't look strange doing one in a club but you might if you pull out a pack of cards.

Mentalism does require gimmicks a lot of the time. There are some good ungimmicked mentalism tricks tho. Try "Pulse Rate" By Matt Melo. (allows you to guess her pulse rate in advance by just staring at her. Works good with a "I notice your pulse went up when you saw me"-routine).


As for Card magic:


If you want what is imo the best trick out there for a PUA, I'd go with "Cell mates" by Paul Harris. It can be found in his "True Astounishments" box (which is very pricey, but totally worth it. If you can't afford it, I'm sure you can find "other" ways of obtaining it). The concept is basically that you ask a girl if she believes in a soulmate. She says "yes" and you offer to find that soulmate for her. You ask her to shuffle a deck and say 4 traits that her ideal soulmate should have while she's shuffling it. The shuffling happens complete fair. She can shuffle as much and as long as she wants. After which you ask her to get her phone. She takes her phone and you tell that she should take the top 8 cards (or more, depending on what country you live in and how long your number is) and type those 8 numbers in her phone. You tell her that the person on the other end of the line will be her soulmate. Her phone rings. Your phone starts vibrating ... you pick up and say "hi, this is your soulmate talking". Bonus is that you have a number and she has yours without you having to ask it.

The trick itself is ridiculously simple, requires no sleight of hand and even a monkey on a stick can do it.



Or if you want something more simple, just use a keycard routine or force a card on someone and attempt to read her mind. (a forced card along with "Stigmata" is a jaw-breaker too)


Other than that, I would suggest the "On the Spot"-DVD by Gregory Wilson. He has tricks with every day object (rings, napkins, ...) that require little to no preparation and use all kinds of objects used in bars/pubs/clubs. His other DVD's (such as coffee house-conjuring, basically magic specifically for doing at Starbucks, is pretty amazing too)
