Ok so here is the stage...you walk up to a girl, go through the nitty gritty and you try the ESP trick to DHV. You guess 7 she says 6, you guess 4 she says 2.

Easy to recover. My roommate and I opened like this.

ME: Let me try something on you, nothing serious, just a practice run.
HB: What are you going to do?
ME: Well my roommate and I have been taking this learning annex, just for kicks, and...well don't laugh at me but we are taking it on ESP.
HB: NO WAY!, ok show me, give it a try

At this point you showed that you are learning so you could be wrong. You also lay the ground work for the best recovery that I can come up with

ME: Think about your number
HB: OK
Blah, Blah, Blah...Now you were wrong on both numbers here you switch to cocky funny and recover with style.

(cocky funny)I was wrong on both? Damn, really? Maybe I should go and take my money back this class was full of shit!

HB: So what else are you working on?
ME: Well I can read your palm if you want me to BS us you for the next 10 min...

and just laugh it off. This was the recovery I used the first night that I tried the ESP line and it went flawless. She was laughing so hard through the whole recovery that it didn't even matter that I got her number wrong.

You have to sell the fact that you were wrong. Really play the class up and kinda be disappointed and pissed that you wasted money at the same time.
