If your target says something, simply turn to her and say, "You should really speak up more." Or something of the sort. Immediately continue with your routine. If you allow your target to reiterate her comment or question, you would be telegraphing interest, and too soon. It is not insulting because you are not directly saying "You mumble a lot." It is advice.
You could also use this when she asks a question, perhaps to a story you are telling. I would recommend using this once per target, or else she might become offended. _________________ "Do you think women have a clue what goes on up here? What do they think, it's all stock quotes, drill bit sizes? They don't know shit! Let's keep it that way."
