I discovered the ability to use this as a routine after reading it in a joke. I've only used it one on one, but I'd be welcome to anyone adapting it to a group environment.

Start out by saying this:

"So I was reading an article in the *insert your newspaper* about a noted pyschologist, in the field of mental disorders, who was asked how do you identify a mental illness in someone who appears and functions normally? The psychologist told the interviewer that he asks a very simple question and based on the answer he determines whether or not the person has an underlying mental condition. Pretty cool huh?"

Don't give her the time to answer. Go in immediately with, "Captain Cook sailed the world three times. Which trip did he die on?"

Of course the logical answer is the third one, but you'd be surprised at how many people will pause and think. The joke stated that if they pause and think, they have an underlying mental illness (great neg and inside joke later). I typically follow up with, "hahahaha, you paused", you just have to be kinda careful how you play this one off...it's easy to make you seem like a 'know it all smartass'

If they immediately say the third one, you can always go the route of negging them for thinking like everyone else. He could have lived, he could have died on the second trip and requested that his body be sailed once more around the world, etc. you have to be creative but it works.
