throw indirect negs or compliments in your story's

for example

(neg)
you probably don't know this but...
i don't think you would realy understand this but...
...you won't be able to come up with a very good answer to this but...

or

(compliment)
you remind me of this one girl you both have a good style and....

they sound more sincere

also unique compliments sound better (you have pretty hands)
