Extra Sensory Perception. It means you have more than the normal five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing), usually meaning that you can READ MINDS. "Here, Im gonna read your mind and prove that ESP really exists" That one is telepathy. Telekineses, the ability to control objects at a distance, is also commonly claimed, although technically that isnt perception, its manipulation. Then you have things like remote viewing, where you supposedly can see things half way around the world (think Lion-o and the sword of Thunderra, "Sight beyond sight") and wierder claims like pyrogenesis (the ability to mentally start fires) and control over ElectroMagnetic fields. Hell, basically half the guys from X-Men have some sort of ESP.

The ability to see things at a distance is clairvoyance. (Voyance, same root word as voyeur.) The ability to hear things at a distance is clairaudience. Hell, you could probably eke a DHV story out of talking about paranormal phenomena.

remote viewing was the military term used when the CIA was trying to figure out if this stuff was real back in the day. funny which words stick out in your brain at the time, and which ones dont. Especially when you are focused on an entirely different subject, say... pick up? *shrugs*
