Hi, haven't been posting but here is something I was thinking about sharing.

A few tips for avoiding mind going blank in a conversation.

Think a few interesting stories that have happened to you and write them down. Then make some sentence to help you bring those stories in your mind. For example if you have stories about a crazy bus driver, travelling, new year and nasty old man. You could make up a sentence like "old bus driver was travelling at new year". When your mind goes blank in a conversation, think about your sentence and you can pick a story from there to talk about. You should also have some intro memorized for those stories to bring them up like "so how was your new year, well check this out funniest thing happened to me at new year...". You could make sentences like this also for remembering routines.

Another thing which is good for practicing natural conversation. Pick something from what she is saying and make a new thred from it. For example she says "...then I took taxi from there..." "...yeah taxi, in Hong Kong taxi drivers are crazy, when I was at Hong Kong..." You can practice this skill at home by watching TV mute, then put sound on for 5 seconds and then try to talk about that subject what you heard from TV in those 5 seconds.

practising using the TV was one of the best ideas Ive heard in a long time, props to you man Im impressed Definately going to try it, once I get some channels in english !

when u run out of things to say , u start a new topic starting with letter A
than go down the alphabet and ull have LOTS to talk about


ex..
start with A for animal, so like your fav animals then if she has a pet,
and then u can neg her if she has a stereotypical pet like a small purse dog.
etc

Nothing beats multiple threading a conversation.

Leave a topic like you're impatient to go into something else, or let something distract you into another topic. "o yea, where were we about that other thing..." is amazing at making it seem like two people just have too much to talk about. Mystery Method style.

If you run out of things to talk about then you are not being a good listener..

LISTEN to what she is saying and ask questions about what she is saying.. be interested as her as a person.. and not just a girl who you are wanting to get in bed with..

seriously.. people are starting to take advantage of this stuff so they can get laid all the time.. grr

ya i agree. you need to genuinely interested in other people. Read Dale Carnegie's book How to Influence People and Win Friends. It talks a lot about these concepts.
