Tom Waits, probably an odd character to get dating advice from, has a song called Tango Till They're Sore.

I had the album with that song on with a girlfriend in the car, and she pointed out how in the lyrics he says "I Tell you all my secrets, but I lie about my past" and how that's how she is when she's out on town.

And it struck me as a fun idea, so I've been playing around with the concept a bit.
Then I thought about how Tom Waits is as a character on the whole.
Full of tall tales, and fun ideas.
Creative.
I've been thinking of trying out that frame of mind.
The far-out playful jazz-ish groove.

What says the peoples on emulating a Tom Waits persona while out sarging.

note: I've seen a blind guy get laid with a HB9 with this sort of game. He plays piano in a two-man Tom Waits cover-band.
