Have the HB do this:
- Pick a number between 1 and 10. (It has to be a whole number, not 1.75 or a fractional number.)
- Multiply the number by 9.
- Take the resulting two digit number and add the two digits together. (Note: the answer will ALWAYS be 9...see below!).
- Subtract whatever (for instance subtract 5...you know she's subtracting it from 9).
- Have her concentrate on the answer. (Have her hold your hands and stare you in the eyes too!) "The number you now have in your mind is 4".
The math part of this always works. I've tried this with three different women, and the only problem I've had is that the women didn't do the math correctly.
1 x 9 = 9, 0 + 9 = 9
2 x 9 = 18, 1 + 8 = 9
3 x 9 = 27, 2 + 7 = 9
4 x 9 = 36, 3 + 6 = 9
5 x 9 = 45, 4 + 5 = 9
6 x 9 = 54, 5 + 4 = 9
7 x 9 = 63, 6 + 3 = 9
8 x 9 = 72, 7 + 2 = 9
9 x 9 = 81, 8 + 1 = 9
10 x 9 = 90, 9 + 0 = 9
Even if they kinda break the "between 1 and 10" rule, it still works. Just be prepared to handle the case where she says "It's not a two digit number"...you then know she picked 1 to start with. Use it as a neg..."I said pick a number BETWEEN 1 and 10...is that too complicated for you?".
Enjoy!
