If you've met a girl once very briefly, is asking her name the next time you talk a bad idea? Would it be an IOD or neg, or what?

edit: btw, I met her last time, I know her name. I'm just asking if "forgetting" is a bad thing.

dont ever forget a girl's name.

it means alot to them that you actually remembered her name. this helps build the connection between you two.

i understand why you're asking though. i used to think along the same premise that little jabs like these are good to build attraction (you think that you're revealing yourself as a social person and can't remember all the names of people you meet), but it doesn't work like that.

what about a halfway attempt? Like it takes me a second to remember, but I still remember?

I'm gonna try for a number close today. Either Mystery's "draw something creative" or just hand her my phone and say "you know what to do".

I forget names all the time, and it's a real problem.
There are 2 ways I can get around this:

1: "You're ... ahh... I cant remember. That means you arent being memorable enough".
It can be tricky to pull off, but with the right playful attitude you can generally get away with it. You can even keep hounding her to be more exiting (You can neg her with this too) if she plays along with it.

2: My prefered method: Nicknames.
Before you leave them after opening the first time, where they tell you thier name, say "I'm never going to remember that. I'll give you a nickname. I'll tell you next time I see you".
Think up a funny/cute/whatever nickname for them and call them by that.

The best part about this way is this litle extra: If you can, remember their real name (Once they tell you after you give them their nickname), then make their nickname somethign teasy (but not cruel, there's a fine line). Call them by their nickname continually until you want to k-close or full close. If you encounter any resistance, call them by their real name, and It'll pump buying temperature through the roof for you to do anything.
