Location: New Zealand | | So say you're on a date. Movie, food and say ice cream. You both don't have jobs, still in school and you need to pay. Now obviously the men are always expected to pay but I see this as unfair, call me new fashioned. Of course it's tradition but to what extent does she have to pay and what extent donyou have to pay? Do the great PUAs have a bunch of good lines to get away with free dates? Do great PUAs attempt free dates? What are the rules and thoughts on this?

But you know what else lowers your value? Being cheap.
So it's really a judgment call. Whatever you decide just don't make a big deal of it. If picking up the check is gonna devastate you, then split it and save her the awkwardness of you sweating it out. Because once she feels guilty, she goes into super-nice mode and that leads nowhere.
