Hey all, I could use some advice in this situation I've gotten myself into. I'm pretty terrible at pua, but I have no problem talking to women, I've got an easy going cocky-funny personality that seems to land me in a lot of friendships with women without ever really being able to bridge that gap with attraction. Admittedly, I become significantly less witty/interesting when I'm talking to a potential target.

The background here is a cute Sri Lanken girl started at my work a couple weeks ago, and after a few brief conversations with her (which went pretty well, had her laughing and definitely picked up some IOIs), I decided to go for it using a direct approach; something along the lines of "You're really cute, we should grab a drink sometime." Her response was a little wishy-washy; she seemed somewhat excited but responded with "I haven't dated in over a year, it's really complicated," and from what I hear her family is very culturally proper (I am white by the way, which is probably a big no-no to her.) I got her laughing after she said that, and asked for her number anyways, which she gave to me - she ended with "Let me think about it and I'll get back to you." (ouch, I know.)

My question is: What the hell do I do now? I don't know if she only gave me her number because I put her on the spot, and I'm not even sure I should have asked for the number considering I see her at work every day. Do I wait a couple days and ask again? Do I call her after work one day? How long do I wait? Am I fooling myself and she cleanly rejected me? I am stumped.

Bump. I don't know if I'm not posting correctly or if this just isn't an interesting problem, but does anyone have any advice for me? To update, things are pretty awkward at work with her now, but that could be my fault

You gave her too much initially. You have to make sure to calibrate a girls' interest before you go for something like that. Especially since you put all the cards in her hand.
