Situation: I went on a couple of dates with a girl this time last year and we were together on a couple nights out, just kissed her nothing more. She was dating a guy at the start of this school year, I proposed we get some coffee anyway to give me a chance of 'stealing her back' went well, but I got busy with my project work, she started dating the other guy.

I she liked a one of my old profile photos the other day, so she had been looking through them, so checked her profile she's now single which is a recent thing. She's a cool girl, and I have like 4 weeks left of University, and I'm just looking for someone to hang out with and kill time, nothing serious. I deleted her number so can't text, I was just going to chat on facebook and then ask her out for a drink, since time is of the essence I can't drag it out and play it cool, will have to show I'm interested and get the ball rolling so to speak. So what's the best way to get something started with this girl again? Has anyone been/is in a similar situation?

message her "hey I lost my cell what's your number?" then invite her out..then proceed to the place and then make out then...

I was about to suggest the same thing. Just directly say that in the message, get her number, and set up a date. Figure out what you want the relationship to be like (friends, cashual dating, exclusive dating, FB, or whatever) and gear your meet up towards that.
