So I walk into this party last night and it was pretty dead, i didnt want to be rude so I started talking to a couple female friends of mine so I wouldnt have to leave immediately. And before I know it all these girls start turning up...

I immediately went over and opened 2 girls with my roommate (AFC), used the drug dealer line. One of the girls was a 7 (lets call her A), I ignored her a bit then got talking to her, she was impressed with my australian accent and decided to write something on my hand. Anyway wasnt realy interesteed tbh, just wanted to be the center of attention and before I know it these two girls walk right up to me and ask what my name is because they were "trying to get to know everyone in the room". One was a 6 and the other was a 9 (lets call them J and S respectively. I decided I was interested in S since she was by far the hottest girl in the room so I started to ignore her and started talking to J. This is how it went:

ME: me and my friend are having a debate could you help us settle it?
J: sure
ME: which do you prefere, australian or british? (I love this opener, im australian living in USA btw)
J:umm... Australian is more exotic i guess...
ME: cool
J: Yeah I thought you were australian, thats definitely what I prefer

from here on it was just normal conversation I cant remember exactly what I said. I threw a few negs at S who was trying to jump into the converasation but I was ignoring her. The two go to the bathroom together (I feel like whenever girls do that the go to discuss me). When they come back J is all over me. As she whispers something in my ear I glace at S and smile, she smiles back. We start talking about the difference in dancing in america to australia and theyre both like "can you teach us to dance like you do in australia?"

ME (to S): Id much rather you teach me american dance, im curious...
S: ok
ME: *extend hand*
S: *takes it and starts grinding on me*
ME (after a while): this is boring maybe we should dance australian
S: how?
ME: turn around
S: *turns*
ME: *take her waist and pull her close*
S:*starts staring at me and getting close*
ME (thinking) "ok time to close" and then one of my friends comes over a and is like - "let me take a photo of you guys"
S:*hugs me and smiles for the photo*
Friend:*takes photo*
ME: "wait, take another one" and to S "Kiss me here"*pointing to cheek*
S:*playfully* "no"
ME: "just do it" *pointing again*
S:ok
Friend:*Takes second photo and walks away*
ME: lets go dance over here its less crowded (and thinking there are also less distractions)
S: *while walking grabs my hand and sqeezes* (IOI - noticed that one but wasnt counting how many I got before)

So we start dancing again but everytime I move in to kiss she turns away, so I kiss her cheek and neck a few times get close etc. eventually I lift her chin and move in for a kiss...

S:*turns away* "I cant kiss you"
ME: Why not?
S: Because I just broke up with my bf and its complicated, im sorry
ME: just one kiss and then decide if you want to kiss me or not
S: I cant...
ME: Cmon
S:*looks over shoulder and kisses me once quickly* sorry I cant
ME: fine
S: your mad
ME im not
S: you are, your acting bitchy
ME: no im not
S: I can tell
ME: no its fine, you dont like me that way, no obligation
S: I do like you, its just... complicated. Im sorry

I walk away. With my back to her all my friends start telling me that she is looking at me like every 2 seconds. My tactic was to just act cold and figured she'd come back to me. she didnt, we made akeward eye contact a few time that night but nothing. Worst thing is that I spent nearly an hour with her and by this time every other decent girl had gone home or was hooking up with some other guy.

What Did I do wrong here? I just dont get it, I thought I had it when we were dancing. Was it just bad luck that I ran into a girl who may have recently broken up with her bf?

I'd never plead with a girl to kiss me. Why? It DLV. Think about it - if she said no the first time, is a "Cmon" really going to be the deciding factor? Never. IMO the key here is to act like the kiss isn't such a big deal to you. Turn the tables around, make HER compete for your attraction. You could have just shrugged off a smirk while holding eye contact, and continued dancing. After a minute or so, look her dead in the eye and whisper in her ear "Find me later."

I'd have no doubt she would be in limbo with temptation and that's what you want in a situation like this. It's a guarantee she'd come and find you later, at which point you're still in the game and with a chance. At the very least - you may have nailed a number for next time.

By being 'cold', she felt you got mad. By getting mad, it's as though her saying no upset you. This is the last thing you want IMO.

You did pretty well with everything else though, so I am sure next time you'll own it.
