So i met this girl at a party a couple weeks ago, danced with her and got her number and everything. The next day I saw her at my friends party and found out they knew each other. Spent time talking to her and asked her to lunch. I texted her and we went to lunch a few days later. It went pretty well, we just went to a little pizza place and found somewhere to sit why we ate and talked for an hour or so before she had to go to a meeting.
I then decide to ask her to get some dinner, it goes great and we come back to my place to watch a movie and end up making out. I made the move the first time, but afterward she was the one who initiated.

The problem is, a few days after she stopped responding to to some of my texts and now when i asked her to come over to study later in the week, she said she'd get back to me and never did. I texted her the next day inviting her to a party and she said she'd had a rough week and wanted to stay in.

However, I've also heard from our mutual friend that the guy who she shares an apartment with has been getting pretty close with her lately. I'm not really sure what to do at this point, pretty much just thinking it's a lost cause.

i am sorry bro but it does sound like a lost cause its still possibile to chase her by not texting her for a few days and "randomly " bumping into her and talking to her and ask how things are going? personally i think your better off not bothering since it requires a lot of time and devotion and isn't worth it because your competing with a guy who she sees all the time. Bringing up a fake girl friend and try wrapping her into "just friends" category will work.. But h personally i would just fuk it and go look for another girl

Yeah, I've started talking to a few other girls, so i figure i'll just wait for her to contact me or i see her at a party to talk to her and just make it seem like i'm too busy for her right now.

srry for the late response but thats a good way to go but dont ignore her for to long or she will get bored of the chase
