ok I'm in college and I hit on this girl yesterday because we live and work in the same buildings on campus. After we got off work we walked back together to our dorms and within like a minute of conversation I asked her for her number and she said yes. So, today I asked her what she was doing tonight because its friday night and the first words out of her mouth were, "sorry but I have a boyfriend." I said something about being dissappointed and that I would call her back later.

I now realize that it was most likely a huge shit test, because its much more likely that she doesn't want to get involved with anyone, because we have like 4 weeks of the semester left before we have to leave for the summer.

So, I'm wondering should I just straight up tell her that or maybe say something else?

the way it sounds to me, shes prob not that interested in you, unless you percieve yourself to be a ladiesman, smooth talker, etc

You could've said:
"Thats cool,we dont need him".
or
"No problem,im not jealous".

For the future, a well delivered, "Okay?" can also do wonders. Say it with a conviction that gives it the subtext of, "What's your point? Did you think I was hitting on you?"

If none of that works, say to her "Tell him he's a lucky lad."

So, if he doesn't treat her right, she will be more likely to stray (hopefully) into your arms.
