It was a great day 2 and we've been just shooting txt's back and forth over break, kinda fluff but at the same time spontaneous and fun (I usually always play c/f with these and she always gets it). Yesterday, however, was her birthday so I wanted to mess with her and send her something funny. Remembering she has a twin brother and how she said it sucks to not only have a bday so close to christmas, but to also share it with her brother, I decided to try and make light of the situation. So I sent her an opening txt saying "Hey wish ur bro a happy bday for me... and I guess happy birthday to you too" and this was the first time that I've gotten a sort of downcast response when she replied simply "hilarious!". So sensing I hit a nerve I tried to recover by asking "Is that a hint of sarcasm?" and got back "just a hint". So realizing that I may be digging myself farther down, I just ended it and said "Well happy birthday, enjoy the day!" and got a "thanks".
So my question is, how do I recover / do I need to recover?? - mind you I still have two weeks before face-to-face interaction is possible again.
Thanks,
~GQute
