Although the stages can be useful to know where you are at, it's not like precision geometry. Go with the flow a little more. IMO negs aren't really different than teasing - the response to a neg should be laughter, or maybe they play hit you or something. It is important to keep things playful - but also obviously when building comfort especially it is important to not overneg (if she is telling you something personal for example!). And don't neg (too much!) if she complies to something. Because negative compliance builds in the same way that positive compliance does.
