smooth: man, i haven't visited you at your job
target: hehe, you mean school?
target: I quit borders again...that was just during break
smooth: oh
target: so you missed your small window of opportunity
smooth: i really don't think so
smooth: haha
target: ?
smooth: because we can meet up at any time
target: well, I meant to see me at work
smooth: ah
target: haha, and why the determination to come see me at some point all of a sudden?
smooth: for the same reason you might want to see me...
target: okay...
smooth: but there's only one way to find out...
target: you're speaking cryptically
smooth: well then, that only has significance if you can decipher the code
target: considering I'm busy working, deciphering any code besides the work I'm doing is kind of annoying
target: why don't you just tell me...?
smooth: hm...
smooth: but not to busy to chat with me …
smooth : anyhow
smooth: i'll tell you
smooth: i want to hang out with you
smooth: besides i haven't seen you in a while
smooth: we have all to gain and nothing lose

Then TARGET abruptly went away on her messenger

Please, give me some feed back, I know what i did wrong, but I want to see if i got everything after i studied this field report

First off its an ex. If she dumped you, then obviously your value isnt seen as equal or higher. Second off, you seemed to be DLVing abit, though im not sure. The SOI wasnt a reward, you just gave it away... Or so it seemed, but what do i know .

You flopped after you misread her here:

You tried to continue on all smooth-like.
Bad call... you misinterpreted her, leave it at that.
You ruined it with:

smooth: for the same reason you might want to see me...

"for the same reason you might want to see me..."
You were trying to be smooth. It was not working.
Why would she want to see you if she doesn't have feelings for you anymore?
You should've said something like:
"Cause then you could've given me a discount" (at borders)
That's more cocky/funny, versus being all "Rico Suave".

But that's just my take.
You flopped, then made a horrible attempt at recovery.
It happens to the best of us.

I have to agree with element, you hurt yourself at:
"smooth: for the same reason you might want to see me..."
I think this line would have workd with more IOI's from her. But it was too big of a leap at the time.

But I gotta tell you, nothing mean man, just straight critique: you shot yourself in the foot with your closer.

That comes off as very try hard. You did get the IOI of her wanting to know, and you should have used that as vested interest for a meeting I think. Like, " I'll tell you at lunch tomorow" or "When you meet us at the bar [tonight, tomorow, etc], I'll tell you." Something along those lines might have saved it for you. But hey, good try dude. You've already got the balls to throw those lines out, just gotta calibrate them.
