I am 25 and date girls +/- 5 years within that age.
When reading posts here it quite often you see the "xyz at my place". I quite like the idea of inviting the girl I am dating for a dinner at my place, but the thing is I don't have my own flat. I have a pretty spacious nice room in the flat that I have made pretty nice & cosy and can make even more so for the dates. My SPAM are friendly and won't mind me iniviting girls for a date (within reason), but they would be staying in the flat. Of course ideally I would arrange this when they are on a night out but most of the days it will suit me to do the dates they won't be.
So I was thinking of basically cooking the dinner in the kitchen and then we just eat it in my room. In my room I have a good table and one chair (can get another one obviously, though not matching) where two people can eat comfortably. She would need to leave the room for the toilet/shower (room is not ensuite) but that's about it. Is there any significant issue with doing the date like this in my room?
Thanks
N.B. if you're going to suggesting renting my own flat: I do have enough money to rent my own flat, but, if it's not to be a hole like an hour travel away from the centre, it would almost triple my rent expenses. My current place is in a pretty good location transport wise and easy to get to. So I really don't want to rent a flat on my own unless it adds enough value for so much money which I don't think it does. To be clear in London the rents are VERY high compared to incomes many people (young especially) struggle to find even a room they can afford.

I would try and veer away from making it 'seduction' stylee.
Keep curtains open and the door even perhaps.
Interact with your housemates with her. You are a social creature. Socialize.
I can relate and have a similar living circumstance. _________________ You have gotta want it, as bad as you wanna breath...

The only thing I am worried about is that considering it is a bit less private than a standalone flat the girl will be reluctant sex-wise. So far basically I've avoided my room by either going to the girl's place where she is a bit more comfortable, or borrowing a friend's flat, but it's starting to really annoy me so I'd prefer to do the dinner date in my room.

i would do a bar or coffee first.. that way if i don not like the girl.it's not a big deal saying its not gonna work out.
dinner at yours is more of a 2nd date. you can always move into your bedroom saying you want some privacy and not to disturb your SPAM.

Yeah to be honest it's not realistic to do a date dinner in the kitchen/living room, so it's got to be my room anyway. My SPAM would be absolutely fine so long we don't create much noise.
Anyway will try it out then and see!
