Last saturday I was out in the club with my friends. I was outside at the smoking zone and when I was entering back I found this two girls that approach me. I knew one of them and they were drunk - not much, but clearly not sober -.

Girl 1: Hey, I know you...
Me: Yes, I think we used to go to the same gym

(this was the only thing we talked onf FB after she added me, a clear IOI to me)

Girl 1: To which gym are you going now? Havent seen you there for a while
Me: To ****, and you? are you still working out? As a personal trainer I can tell you that you should never give up on gym

Girl 2: Ooh so you're a personal trainer? Where are your muscles?

And both girls started touching my arms and laughing.

Im not skinny at all, Im pretty build up actually, so I guess they were saying that just as a test, which I failed, because I couldnt answer anything smart and the interaction faded away until I excused myself and went inside to look for my friends.

How would you've handled the situation? I feel I wasted a good chance, Girl 1 was interested in me, I could tell cuz she added me on fb and cuz she approached me with her girlfriend, but I failed completely and this angers me because I feel that Im not improving much If I cant take this clear shots.

Your mistake:

DHV is achieved in a much different way. You don't want to tell a girl you drive a porsche...you want her to FIND OUT that you drive a porsche.

You then opened yourself up to scrutiny by coming across all macho by proactively stating that you're a personal trainer. On the other hand, if they are feeling up on your arm and jokingly ask "what, are you a personal trainer or something?", then you can say, "umm, yeah". This way, your muscles have done your talking for you, not your own mouth.

So the good news is, you didnt fail necessarily...you just set yourself up to fail. The setup is important because its the difference between her thinking "oh...ok cool" and "oh so ur some hot shot personal trainer now?". You've given her the perfect platform to judge you.

Next time when talking about the gym, give some knowledgable pointers/insight and wait for them to think, "wait...are you a personal trainer or something?" Then you've won. She came to the conclusion, you confirmed, now you can move on to better things.

Remember, you going up to a girl and saying "I'm an awesome dude" is not nearly as effective as one of her girlfriends telling her "that guy is an awesome...personal trainer."

I agree that you do not need to talk about yourself. A major turn off for women. Place them in the comfort zone and hang out. They will find out by themselves and you will look better to them because you did not tell them.
They want someone who is concerned about them.

Whatever you do, do not go and start buying drinks for girls. This lowers your value and you become a mini-bank for the rest of the night while also losing your manhood.

You have to embedd the DHV's, but do not to say them deliberately. Another thing to practice I would think, would be Sarcastic responses, Cocky Humor, Negs or whatever way you would like to call it. You could have responded in that way when they touched your arms, but the bad deliberation of your DHV leaded to that, but next time, i'm sure you gonna be careful. Good luck.
