Hey guys, so I met this HB8 bartender at a local bar about a month ago. I see her there every weekend and flirt/tease with her quite a bit. I know this is basically her job as a bartender, but I think she’s genuinely interested in me because she always makes a point to come talk to me, get me drinks, etc. Also, according to her, I met her a couple of times previously at a different bar she works at and she gives me shit for not remembering her. This past Friday night I finally got her number. I simply handed my phone to her and she entered it in with little hesitation. I texted her the next day:

Me: “(Inside joke). Meet me at X bar tonight so we can take care of that.” I said this as a kind of joke because I know she works at this bar on Saturday nights
Her: “Funny funny. I work there at 9, so I’ll ‘meet’ you there”

I showed up there well past 9 and the first thing I said to her was “hey sorry I’m late” with an obviously made up story about why. This made her laugh and then we continued our normal flirting routine for the next couple hours until I said I was heading out to a different bar. During this, I asked what she does in her spare time and got to know what her schedule is like when she’s not working.

I now want to set something up during the week to hang out with her when she’s not working, but am unsure of how to accomplish this. I’m not sure whether to text, call, or maybe do it in person next weekend when I see her at the bar. Any advice is appreciated!

CALL! Don't text. You don't want to become her new text buddy cause she will get bored... I'm notorious for pulling strippers and I will tell you from FIRST HAND experience... Calling her and setting something up will set you apart from every other guy who she gives her number to. (who just texts her) Have something fun lined up to do (that you were going to do anyways) and have her tag along with you. Get her to just spend time with you outside of work. If anything, I would say DON'T go back to the bar she works at... You don't want her to think she can see you any time she wants as long as she's at work. That's how I pull strippers... I'll go there one or two times and get her interested and then NEVER go back to the strip club. Do the same thing with the bar tenders and they will be CHASING you...

Thanks for the input. That's a good point about calling to set me apart. I'm thinking I want to avoid the bar scene entirely since she works at one and that's the only setting in which we've had interaction. My only concern with calling is what to do in the event she doesn't answer. Leave a voicemail? Send a follow up text? Or do nothing?

Also, I'm not sure I'll have time this week to do anything so I'll probably wait to contact her via phone until next week. If thats the case, should I avoid the bar she works at this weekend, or use it as another opportunity to build rapport? I've seen her every weekend for the past month so I'm not sure..

Update: I ended up texting her earlier this evening.

Me: "I'm gonna go dance in some puddles later, I could totally use a partner.. You in?
HB8: Sadly thats usually up my alley, but I have to work at 9
Me: Sadly the puddles wont be going anywhere soon. On the bright side, you can have a raincheck (pun intended)
HB8: "HA! Funny funny boy" I didn't respond for a while after this and then she said
HB8: "I'm free on this day and this day so if you want to grab a drink I'll babysit you for the other bartenders sake "

Didn't expect that, haven't replied yet. I'm pretty stoked, but the fact she said she'd babysit me bothers me a little. Maybe shes just got a good sense of humor. I'm going to go ahead and set it up. Thoughts about a good follow up text?
