Background: I've known this girl(HB8) for months and even though I've shown some pretty AFC tendencies towards her, she still shows IOI's. The problem is that any time I try to take it to the next level, she backs off.

you came off as needy. simple as that.

from the first text that you sent you asked her to promise you something. then you wanted her to come "keep you warm???" still too needy from the way you said it.

you could have picked it back up after her text at 9:43 by negging her (subtly calling her stupid). but you pretty much begged her to come over; and to her, it wasn't worth the trouble of going out in the cold/snow.

I actually thought the "Keep me warm" line was pretty bold, but I guess I was wrong.

If you could, I'd appreciate it if you would provide examples of what your responses would have been, or how to say the same basic things I said, but without sounding needy.

instead of saying: Promise you will still hang out with me though?
you should have said something like: we should hang out again sometime. We could do something a little more fun than what we just did ;)

Reason:
We should hang out again sometime: doesn't come across as too needy but still shows just enough interest.
We could do something a little more fun than we just did ;) : sparks her interest as to what's in store for her next time.

but don't hint at it for much more in later texts, just set up a next meet and don't text for much longer than that.
