Met this chick HB 7 on okcupid and hit it off and got her number. We texted yesterday and today. She was sending pretty long texts in response to mine so I took it as a positive IOI. She then texted me at one point today

Me: It can be...yea..but I have actually met some friends on there before so it can work. It's really just what you put into it. I don't treat it as a dating site only.

Me: I do want to hear some of your funny stories sometime, when do you work this week?
Her: Class tomorrow, I work Friday and Saturday...lucky me huh?
Me: Thursday?
Her: I already have plans...maybe next week?
Me: K, Tuesday works
Her: I work Mon and Tues, maybe weds?


Maybe I'm not being attractive enough? I'm trying to just meet her for a casual happy hour asap but pushing it off until next week makes her more likely to flake.

In general when she says she has plans I always use a line I learned from Deangelo:
"cancel them, I am more fun! "

Most of the time she will NOT cancel her plans, however, it sets you up as the prize and is teasing/funny.

Some other notes about what you wrote:

Notice how she is qualifying you here. You should turn it around with something like:
"me: Ya, I hate it when that happens, I hope you are not a creep... you are not, right?"

"Me: I do want to hear some of your funny stories sometime, when do you work this week? " Here you are setting her up as the prize, and giving her too much undisputed value. then you make it worse by asking when she is available. Always suggest a day and adjust if needed.
Better is:
"Me: We should meet sometime so I can see if your stories are as funny as you say they are...? "
or maybe "Lets meet and see how funny your story really are..."
Then after she responds:
" i am busy on x and y, but we can meet on z."

However, having said all that, since she suggested a day I'll just go with it. But I know others might disagree.
Here I like: "Deal. Wednsday, 8:30 wear a dress."
If she asks why, tell her it's "because that's what I like. "

I tried the whole flirty being funny thing when first texting her by asking her to guess my name... it's very easy to guess since my name is one of the few that fits 7 letters exactly for a guy and other girls have gotten it first try. Eventually she just came out and said

I guess I was just put off the rest of the conversation and reverted back to being myself especially since I'm assuming maybe other guys put her off by being TOO cocky/arrogant. She's always texting me last though.

Me: Weds should work but I can't promise anything though. I'll let you know when it gets closer.

Her: No worries, I have a busy schedule this week anyways.

Sounds like you have a good feel for the situation.
That she always texts last is pretty good, I should be more aware of this aspect myself.

I just don't know where to take it between now and next week. Give it a few days or just send a text asking how her day is?
