So things were going well with this one girl at a party. I met her there. We were chatting for a while...she gave me her number, and I escalated kino. She was definitely showing interest. Then, one of her friends told a bad story about her, and she got all embarrassed. A little after that, the other people left the room, so it was just us. We had been sitting at the edge of the bed and holding hands. I got tired of sitting, and she had been very compliant, so I laid back and said she should just sit back with me. She casually said, "I know where this is going," then said she needed to check on her friends. Then we both talked to other people (big party/we were both tipsy), and we didn't run into each other again. I showed no emotion or disappointment, though. Obviously, there wasn't enough comfort built up to be in that situation...we had only been talking for 20-30 minutes. Here's the question: what to do now? Although I didn't indicate it to her, I do think this girl is pretty cool.

You should take one step back, two steps forward. Also try building some comfort. You should also just forget about her, pick up girls and then talk to her again in 7 days.
