Hi all, new to the forum. (I'll post in introductions after this.)

I went out last weekend to practice approaching/opening, as that's my first sticking point. Anyway, it turned out to be going great. I opened this girl and next thing you know we've spent a couple hours together at the bar. Lot of DHV, some kino, all was going well. I wasn't expecting this so kind of froze when it was time to part. She seemed very willing to f-close, but I didn't even kiss close on her. I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek (weak! I know!)

Anyway I had a date 2 lined up with her on Wednesday night and had prepared myself to take her home with me...except she flaked. So while I was there, I texted her "Are you standing me up? lol" I finished my beer and went home after talking to a couple more women in the bar. I got a text from her when I got home that said "Sorry I really needed to catch up on my sleep, just woke up." I waited til the next day and responded "Haha that's a pretty weak excuse for bailing on someone!" Her response came in this morning, "No, I REALLY needed to sleep (the event at that bar that night we agreed to meet at) is my favorite part of the week so please don't take it personally"

So here's where I'm confused. If she was avoiding the date and wasn't interested, why would she even write back? I'm done with her from the standpoint that she stood me up, and I don't really have to put up with that stuff, I'm not desperate, just back in the game after a long while and finding my skills, er, rusty. I've already evaluated her as less than relationship material, but being this is kind of my first foray back into the game, I want to learn as much as I can from each interaction. So, out of principal, I want to try to make that second date happen. Any advice on how to respond?
