i think it could have been her friends that discouraged her, they were negative towards me in the club, saying no and waving their fingers at me.

I think you should just call her. If she didn't answer wait a few days and try again. Don't keep sending texts or leave voice mails. Tell her something random a day or two later. Attraction is vapor without investment. If she flakes just move on.
