I'm new to this forum so I'd really appreciate anyone's help.

I met this girl about a month and got her phone number in about 30 minutes (just lucky). We scheduled for a hike a week afterward but she canceled it the day before, saying that she had "an unexpected family member in town". I didn't want her to be the decisive factor, so I told her that I had to work that day to and was about to let her know.

A week later, we went on a diner date ( she was pretty excited about it and txted me the day before the date) and walked around art galleries and stuff. The whole time ( about 4 -5 hours), not once did she check her phone. By the end of the night, we parted way at her place, she told me she had an awesome time and gave me a really nice tight hug. I didn't text her back until about 5-6 days later.

I started txting her more regularly, about once every 3-5 days. 2 weeks ago, I asked her if she had any plan for the weekend, and she told me specifically how busy her plan was. She's in my college volleyball team and also the current top student of her pre-med class so I do believe that she's really busy. Still, I asked her if she would like to go for a movie and quick lunch, to which she called a rain check.

Most recently, I texted her again after 2 weeks (no contact at all), and she seemed to be happy that I did. I asked when she would be done and said that (after she told me her last final day) now I knew when to bug the hell out of her. Her reply was "haha great..."

My apology for the lengthy first post, and again, I'm new to this forum. So how can I tell if I get friendzoned? I don't see her face to face at all, even though I work next door to her class. Thank you.

it almost seems like everytime you call this girls its to set up a date. are you calling it one? hell try calling her and not setting up a date

I have not called her yet. And except for the day I got her phone, which she texted me about half an hour later, it has always been me who texted her. But she has been replying to my messages almost instantly.

You aren't necessarily friend zoned, but you also aren't a priority, which is why she continues to make excuses. She may not be completely comfortable going on a one on one date with you at this point. Invite her to something fun in a group setting where there aren't any expectations. You are basically going to have to start over, so show her how fun and confident you are. Also, quit relying so much on texting. Give her a call...
