I am new to the world of PUA, I have done my required reading (The Game, Mystery’s book, The red Queen, etc) and below is the story of my first approach and number close. Granted it’s not great, but I am on a learning curve that only goes up. I hope I can glean some advice from the masters here on how to proceed in this area.

It was a soft number close, I got her number but that was about it, she was with her friend, and the friends mother and auntie. It was while I was waiting for my take away Chinese. I opened the older women while the girls were inside and then continued the conversation when they arrived. My body language was good and alpha, but there was no kino. I mostly ignored the girl and talked to the friend and older women, I was getting more IOI’s from the friend and the older women loved me (I actually also got the number of the friend on account of the mother all but demanding I ask for it). I chose to go for the girl no the friend because I refuse to compromise my standards.

I have been texting her last night and today (I have included the entire conversation if you feel like reading it, but the long and the short if it is that it’s been going ok with some flirting and friendly chat. I feel (fear) it’s starting to wind down a bit and get a bit boring for her which is never a good thing.

Me [22:56]: Your adopted family is kinda crazy. 100% awesome, but a little crazy. I’m afraid they may try to abduct you if your not careful
HB [23:01]: abduct me to off to Adelaide. No complaints there! They obviously didn’t scare you off
Me [23:19]: yeah, they lure you in with great weather and beautiful beaches. Then before you know it BAM!!! Your at their mercy.
HB [23:57]: playing dirty. Damn south Australians, Didn’t even get to see your girlfriend in the purple hot pants (there was a girl there that they though I was perving on that I didn’t even actually notice)
Me [00:10]: I know, what am I going to do now. I totally blame you for diverting my attention, now while your out tonight you’ll have to find me a future girlfriend to make up for it.
HB [00:43]: Haha I might just. Too bad there’s only Yankee sailors and Brit sailors.. you’re out of luck there
HB [00:44]: what are you doing awake so late anyway
Me [01:04]: Danm, because I as (sic) totally looking for a sexy ozzy sailor girl with a crazy adopted family (she is both ozzy and a sailor). Sounds like you could be in luck for a cute Yankee though, you’ve got to send me pic’s if you find one.
Btw, phones going on silent now. I’m up at 5.30am for work.
HB [01:13]: you could be in luck…

Me [11:40]: if one of my patients die at work today I’m totally blaming you for keeping me up all night.
HB [13:18]: not my fault haha so you’re a doctor then?
Me [13:22]: nope, close though, guess again
HB [13:23]: paramedic?
Me [13:25]: getting warmer. One guess left
HB [13:26]: surgeon? Haha
Me [13:28]: ok, one bonus guess (I think I should have negged her here for getting it wrong. Your opinion?)
HB [13:29]: can I give up?
Me [13:29]: haha. I’m a nurse.
HB [15:41]: I’ve never met a nurse before! (sorry, I was at some memorial thing)
HB [15:41]: what kind of nurse?
Me [15:52]: wow really? I’m a scrub nurse, I work in the operating theatre helping the surgeon do the operating. I can tell you all about it when we catch up. What are you doing tonight?
HB [18:19]: wow… That’s an insane job… I’m still at work unfortunately. Long, unproductive hours!
Me [18:40}: I understand. But you’ve got to promise to send me a pic if you find any more leopard print underwear tonight.
Me [18:53]: oh and you’ll be pleased to know that I didn’t kill any patients today. Your off the hook.
HB [20:32]: well that’s good for my conscience… haha…so you coped through your day.

Any and all feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated, I feel that it may have started to fall apart around the time that I gave her one more guess. What does the brain trust feel here?
I think I could ignore her until sometime tomorrow (absence makes the heart grow stronger) or change the subject to a direction where I get to know more about her (so, time for a super important questing, this one’s going to be a deal breaker… what’s your favorite color?) or is there another idea that I have overlooked?
