Well, yesterday I got off the bus at a bridge and saw this amazing girl walking in front of me. She had a body of a HB9 and I followed her down until she got on a combi and I got on behind her.

She sat in the back on the bench seat, driver's side, pressed against the window and I felt there was a psychological space issue so I sat on the bench seat and waited until the bus filled more so I could legitimately scoot over next to her to let someone else sit down.

As soon as the fare collector charged us I opened by just looking at her and saying (in Spanish) "It seems to me that you're quite attractive." I then saw the face, which had a lot of acne and was plastered over with a lot of foundation. Maybe a 6 but nothing that some asepxia wouldn't fix up to a 7 or 8.

She gave me an are-you-shitting-me look and then said, "You're attractive too" so we were off and running. She asked me where I was from (standard, since I'm a white guy in Peru) and so I said I was from Los Angeles and asked her if she'd ever been abroad.

Things were going well so I tried Josh's Three Positive Qualities qualifier and she came back with: responsible, honest, and "tranquila" which kind of means that she isn't a wild party girl. According to his system this is a red flag because three emotional answers indicates low self-esteem (and that jives well with her double-take at me saying she was good looking).

According to my recollection when the girl has low self-esteem you have to banter a lot so I tried a couple of bantering lines like saying that I knew she had a "diablita" inside her that was hoping to corrupt me but she didn't bite. She said that in her spare time she doesn't do anything interesting but mentioned that she was hoping to enroll in Callao university soon (which I took as an attempt to self-qualify) and I complimented her on her brains.

She asked how old I was (I'm 40) and when I had her guess she said I was 30. She had previously said she'd been in Peru for 20 years so I took that as her age and she fessed up that she was actually 22 so I negged her very lightly on not being as honest as she'd claimed she was.

I ran out of things to say so I challenged her to a thumb war (kind of a standard out in the system I've read) and she didn't know what that was so I showed her, which led to us kind of holding hands for a few seconds so that broke the touch barrier.

Then I knew she had to get off the bus soon and I got her number. When she went to get off the bus she reached to shake my hand, but I insisted on observing the Peruvian custom of getting a good-bye kiss (cheek-2-cheek, kiss the air, Peruvian style) and she assented so I felt good with that.

Later that night I sent her a text and she replied: "Of course I remember you and I don't normally meet guys on the bus and give them my phone number. Bye! We'll talk another day."

So now the ball's in my court. Advice?

"I don't usually get picked up by girls on a bus either! how is your cooking?"
