Hey I had some cute banter with a checkout chick in a supermarket the other day - mostly involving her playing pool the night before. I left the shop and walked back to the car before thinking, 'actually, let's make something out of this'. So I scribbled my first name and my number on some paper torn from my shopping list (haha) and went back to see her. Interrupted the new customer and gave her handed her the paper, saying 'if you fancy showing me how good you are at pool...' before walking away.

So that was on Saturday, and she called me and left a voicemail on this Tuesday morning. She said she's up for it but was busy this week - so maybe next week.

My question to you Pua-ers is: given the time frame she's given of her availability, do I call her back soon (i.e. today) or tomorrow, or what, or text her? I know texting has it's benefits... To be honest, I expected her to text me! Not to call, but she must be a confident one...

I thought about saying something like :

Hi Katie,

Thanks for your call, good to hear from you!

You'll never guess what just happened to me… (tell some humorous story)

Glad you're keeping busy, the devil makes work for idle minds, after all! Hope your pool skills are up to scratch though… You talked the talk but can you walk the walk?

Next week…. well I'm busy Friday and Saturday, but I'm free to grab a drink and some pool action on Thursday. Let me know if you're game.

Thoughts please? I'd be really grateful!

Okay update. Had a nice chat anyway and it's all good. Should be meeting her early next week, as we're both a bit busy this week.

Moreover, she said she had a thesis presentation on Friday. Should I text her to say good luck etc? And should I be texting before next week to ping?

I would hold off on the texting good luck stuff until you actually hang out. Maybe text to confirm before your plans with her. Hang out with her and if all goes well, then you can do the casual text thing. That's just me. And when you text to confirm if shoot something of this nature

Send something like tht a day or two before your scheduled date.

Thanks for the advice. Definitely going to send such a text nearer the time. Can I ask, perhaps, why you're not recommending pinging in this situation? Would it not be better to keep me fresh in her mind, for want of a better phrase?

My only advice is-make sure u dont go near that supermarket till post thursday next week .. guess u know why .
